Port-Harcourt based singer, Duncan Mighty has levelled a weighty allegation against Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State of owing him 50 million naira for services he rendered to him during his last governorship campaign. In a mail sent out to some media platforms, the artistes lamented how some of his colleagues have now painted him black due to his failure to pay them their performance fees at the event the Governor asked him to organize for him. He is saddened by the fact that all his efforts to get his money from the Governor have been futile.
According to him,''On the 30th of March,2011,I single handedly organized a Celebrity Youth Endorsement Concert in Port Harcourt, where I successfully endorsed over 18000 youths who are eligible voters for Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. During the organization of event under the express approval of the Governor of Rivers State and his cabinet,he gave me the sum of 10 million naira through the then Secretary to the State Government,Senator Magnus Abe,which totally went into the project. The Governor also gave me his word that the balance 50 million naira will be paid as soon as possible..........'' Duncan Mighty then stated how he used his personal money and even went a-borrowing to invite popular musicians to the show and other logistics.Up till now,he hasn't been paid his balance, according to him.
Amazing
ReplyDeleteDuncan Mighty's account is quite detailed and convincing. He is most likely saying the truth.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure there is a mix up somewhere. Governor Amaechi is probably unaware of it.He is an unimpeachable character, and definitely will not willingly owe an artiste.
ReplyDeleteNo need to jump into conclusion yet until we hear from Governor Amaechi's camp.
