SEPP BLATTER SET TO RECONTEST FOR FIFA PRESIDENCY

The embattled FIFA President Sepp Blatter has snuffed out all speculations by confirming to the FIFA Congress last night that he will stand for the fifth term of FIFA presidency. FIFA has come under intense scrutiny and heavy allegations lately over financial rascality under Sepp Blatter. The granting of the 2022 World Cup hosting rights to Quatar amidst bribery allegations has  further tarnished the dwindling image of FIFA. Sepp Blatter,78, has little opposition to contend with in the FIFA Presidency race.
The 2014 World Cup gets under way in Brazil today. Brazil has pumped a whopping sum of $11 billion into the preparation for the tournament. This huge expenditure has been greeted by pockets of protest and violence by the Brazilian citizens who complained of high rate of unemployment and worsening economic situation in the country. OOB wishes the Super Eagles a good outing in the mundial.
