DAVIDO BECOMES AFRICA'S BIGGEST ARTISTE AT THE MOMENT

   On Saturday,June 7, in South Africa, at the Durban International Convention Centre, Nigerian fast-rising hip hop sensation, Davido took the shine off established music acts like P Square, and Wizkid by clinching the Best Male Artiste Award and Artiste of the Year at the MTV Africa Music Awards.
    A seasoned commentator in an online music portal,notjustok.com opines: ''Wizkid no longer gets awards because he still dresses,dances and sings like a kid.He doesn't want to grow up.Davido sings more mature songs and has more mature videos than Wizkid.''
    The show was hosted by Hollywood actor and comedian,Marlon Wayans and featured performances from artistes like DR SID,D'Banj,Tiwa Savage,Miguel,French Montana,Ice Prince,DJ Clock,etc. Nigerian publicity-shy video director, Clarence Peters also clinched 2 awards at the colourful event.
