    The Rivers State Police Command yesterday paraded three of the 15-man gang who gang-raped a 16-year-old girl[name withheld] on Ogbuga Street in Port Harcourt,Rivers State, Nigeria. The suspects are 40-year-old Tambari Dumlesi, Ikechukwu Akah and Friday Esau. The Rivers State Commissioner of Police,Mr Tunde Ogunsakin who paraded the suspects told newsmen that the victim reported the horrendous incident topolice at 6pm on June 23rd.
    According to the victim,she attended a party organised by one Tina,and took a glass of drugged hot drink given to her by one Dumlesi. She became unconscious after taking the drink.She woke up,and noticed her bruised private parts,caused by the gng raping. She has since been receiving treatment at the police clinic.The paraded suspects will assist in tracking down other suspects now at large.

  Atuche  and his wife,Elizabeth are being prosecuted for allegedly stealing 25.7 billion naira belonging to Bank PHB[ now Keystone Bank] by EFCC.A former Chief Financial Officer of the bank,Mr Ugo Anyanwu is also charged with them. Onyike was led in evidence by Mr Atuche's counsel,Mr Tayo Oyetibo.

 The remaining three Al-Jazeera journalists detained in Egypt on the spurious allegation of aiding and abetting the Muslim Brotherhood have been sentenced to years of imprisonment in a judgement delivered today.The three journalists have been in detention for six months,and on trial for four months.Baher Mohammed bagged 10 years imprisonment while Peter Greste and Mohamed Fahmy were sentenced to 7 years imprisonment. Their lawyers have promised to appeal the judgement.Unfortunately,the Egyptian court appeal process usually drags for too long.
   The Committee to Protect Journalists, Amnesty International and people across the world have condemned the sentence as sheer injustice and an outrageous ruling. Egypt is notorious for being too harsh on journalists,often clamping them into detention over minor issues.
