Super Eagles of Nigeria and Chelsea FC star player, John Mikel Obi is set to build an eye-popping,multi-million naira mansion at Banana Island, Ikoyi,Lagos. Banana Island is reportedly Nigeria's most expensive residential area. Africa's richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, and one of Africa's richest men and CEO of Globacom,Otunba Mike Adenuga are among the stupendously wealthy Nigerians who reside in the area where transactions are done in dollars and pound sterlings,and not in naira.
According to Mikel's top aide,Chinenye Kanu,'' Mikel loves Banana Island a lot,and he has bought a massive piece of land there. Construction work has commenced in earnest.'' Mikel is the second richest Nigerian footballer.He earns 5.5 million pound sterlings per annum[approximately 1.37 billion naira] at Chelsea FC.
