First is the Federal Government of Nigeria's nullification of the contract earlier given to his company to reconstruct the bumpy Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Also, he has an unfinished business with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission who has charged him in the Federal High Court for laundering money for the former Delta State governor, James Ibori.
Babalakin felt seriously betrayed by his friends and he has withdrawn completely to his shell.
