SENATOR AHMED YERIMA INSISTS THAT IN ISLAM,A MENSTRUATING GIRL CAN MARRY

         Despite the invectives and criticisms being hurled at him left, right and center, Senator Ahmed Yerima has stood his ground concerning his support for child marriage on the floor of the Upper House of the National Assembly.
       According to him,his position was informed by Islamic tenets and the Holy Quran. He posits that the Holy Quran said any married woman is of full age, and the Prophet Mohammed, S.A.W., said for you to marry,there are conditions you must have attained as a woman,namely menstruation. According to Yerima, once you start menstruation, you are of full age, and you can marry.
