A fortnight ago, the incumbent governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun hurriedly launched the All Progressives Congress[APC] at the Ake palace ground in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. The national leadership of the Action Congress of Nigeria led by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the state leader of the party, Aremo Osoba were conspicuously absent from the launching.
The launching was triggered by Amosun's fear that he may not be endorsed as the consesus candidate in the 2015 governorship election.
Tinubu and Osoba are reportedly positioning ex Guaranty Trust Bank boss, Fola Adeola for the post, as they are unimpressed by Amosun's style of administration.
