CHIEF NYESOM WIKE THREATENS TO EXPOSE GOVERNOR ROTIMI AMAECHI SOONEST

    The Supervising Minister of Education,Chief Nyesom Wike has vowed to expose the high level of corruption,and the degree of rot  that has allegedly characterised the River State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi's administration. Chief Wike,who ironically served as Governor Amaechi's campaign director in 2011 is no longer in good terms with the vocal Governor.
   According to Chief Wike, ''I will expose Governor Amaechi at the right time.He creates the impression of being transparent.He is not as transparent as he claimed.He wants Nigerians to see him as a crusader,but it is a big lie.'
   Chief Wike made the statement while speaking with chiefs from the Ogu Divisional Council of Chiefs in Ogu/Bolu Local Government Area in his house in Port Harcourt.He is among the top candidates to contest for governorship post in 2015.
  In his quick response,Governor Amaechi said he won't join issues with Chief Wike,whom he described as 'incompetent and inconsistent.''

   American hip hop artist and music producer,Puff Daddy for the second year running tops the FORBES' List of Five Wealthiest Hip Hop Artists in the world. He is worth an estimated $700 million,thanks mostly to his non-musical ventures such as REVOLT TV.

OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY STUDENTS PROTEST TUITION HIKE

    The students of Obafemi Awolowo University,Ile Ife,Nigeria yesterday caused a traffic gridlock along Ipetumodu expressway by blocking the Ilesha-Ife expressway. The students' protest was triggered by the astronomical increment in their school fees from 17 thousand naira to 100000 naira,in addition to the acceptance levy of 20000 naira.
    The protest which enjoyed the full participation of both undergraduate and post graduate students was led by the Student Union's President, Comrade Isaac Ibikunle.They barricaded the highways with tyres. Accusing fingers were pointed at the school's Vice Chancellor,Professor Bamitale Omole who was accused of insensitivity to the students' welfare.

STEALING IS NOT CORRUPTION,SAYS ICPC

  Wonders shall never end. The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission[ICPC] Chairman, Mr Ekpo Nta told a delegation from the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria[COREN] who visited the Commission in Abuja that,contrary to popular opinion, stealing is not corruption. Nta noted that most Nigerians,including the educated, did not quite understand what constituted corruption,and stressed that it is wrong to classify theft as such.
    The commission's boss likened the penchant for referring to theft as corruption to ordinary Nigerian who often called a roadside mechanic as an engineer.

STARING AT BOOBS PROLONGS A MAN'S LIFE, RECENT STUDY

 Many of you women who don't feel comfortable whenever men  stare at your boobs need to have a rethink,if a recent study in Europe is anything to go by.A recent study in Germany claims that staring at women's breasts for 10 minutes a day can  prolong a man's life by 5 years. According to the researcher,Dr Katren Weatherby,staring at breasts for 10 minutes a day is said to be equal  to 30 minutes of aerobic exercise.

     The study involved a team of investigators visiting three hospitals in Frankfurt,Germany,and comparing the health of 200 males over a period of five years.Those who ogled at big-breasted babes had lower blood pressure,slower pulse rates and were less likely to develop coronary heart disease.

COURT THROWS SUSPENDED CBN GOVERNOR,SANUSI LAMIDO SANUSI'S CASE OUT

    The Federal High Court,Abuja has thrown out the suit filed by the suspended Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria,Mr Sanusi Lamido challenging  his suspension by the President of Nigeria, President Goodluck Jonathan as CBN Governor. The presiding judge,Justice Gabriel Kolawole claimed that the court lacks the jurisdiction to hear the law suit.The judge posited that the case is an outright case of Labour Law,and advised Mr Sanusi to lodge his complaint at the Industrial Court.
   The plaintiff is yet to issue any statement concerning the judgement.He may choose to appeal the judgement at the Court of Appeal.

   It is no longer news that the Boko Haram, whose insurgency and dastardly acts have resulted in the untimely deaths of thousands of Nigerians is under the leadership of Abubakar Shekau,a man whose image loomed large,and who is a mystery to many. Who is Abubakar Shekau? A few media houses in Nigeria have investigated his backgound. Enjoy it.
    His old school mates said he was born in a village called Shekau in Yobe State 38 years ago.He relocated to Maiduguri as a child,and joined the popular Almajiri [street urchins] in search of Islamic knowledge.He was from a wretched background.This,allegedly,affected him psychologically,and made him vowed to vent his anger on the society,which neglected him, when the time ripens.
    He enrolled in an Islamic school called 'High Islam' within the premises of Mohammed Goni College of Legal and Islamic Studies,Mafoni,Maiduguri. His old school mates alleged he was in the habit of carrying big books about,pretending to be a scholar.He had always been aggressive and militant.He was said to be standoffish and unsociable.He was trained by the first leader of Boko Haram,late Mohammed Yusuf.His fame soared following the arrest of Yusuf in early 1999 by the security agency.
  In June 2012,the United States Department of State designated him as a terrorist,and a reward of $7million was placed on his head for any information leading to his arrest,while the Nigerian Army placed 50 million naira on his head. Up till now,he remains elusive.

    In a revealing interview published in The Sunday Sun newspaper,leader of the controversial Movement for the Survival of The Sovereign State of Biafra [MASSOB],Chief Ralph Uwazuruike expressed his high level of disappointment in the incumbent Governor of Imo State,Rochas Okorocha whom he claimed became the Governor as a result of his efforts,and has deliberately overlooked him.
   He also berated ex Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and Umeh for betraying the former leader of All Progressives Grand Alliance,APGA, late Emeka Ojukwu.According to him,the present crop of leaders in APGA are ''corrupt,inept,selfish and greedy.''
