THE President of the Russian Tennis Federation, Mr Tarpischev has been banned by the WTA for one year for his abusive and sarcastic comment on the World Number female Tennis Player, Serena Williams and her sister, Venus. Last week, Tarpischev referred to the Williams sisters as ''Williams brothers'', probably due to their masculine body frames. Serena Williams and World Number 2, Russian super model, Maria Sharapova have commented on the ban, and called it a positive development.
