RIVERS STATE DEEPENING CRISES

The political squabble between the embattled  Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi and President Goodluck Jonathan is deepening by the day. The latest in the escalating crises was the show of shame in Rivers State House of Assembly where five lawmakers who are anti-Governor Amaechi made a botched attempt to impeach the Speaker.
The withdrawal of soldiers and their armoured tanks from the Rivers State Governor's office fuelled the claim that there is the Presidency hands in the Rivers State protracted crises.
Millions of Nigerians are seriously unimpressed by the saga. The mounting insecurity, deepening poverty, and rising unemployment are some burning issues that are supposed to preoccupy the President rather than spending quality time to settle cheap political scores  with a governor.
It is high time the Rivers State crises got nipped in the bud.
