To state that the Number 1 Course of Study in Nigeria today is Law is stating the obvious.
In the 1970s,1980s and even most part of the 1990s,when the military rule was the order of the day,many Nigerian lawyers were poor,as their service was not much needed.
However,since 1999 when the air of democracy enveloped the country,opportunities have been widening up for Nigerian lawyers. No course of study today in Nigeria enjoys such huge patronage as law.
Remarkably,law parades the highest number of University graduates as students.
Using the National Open University of Nigeria as a case study,over 60% of the law students in NOUN are University graduates. We have first degree holders,masters degree holders,Ph.D holders and even Professors as law students. What a record.
