LAIDE BAKARE AND ATANDA ORILOWO STEP OUT

     Controversial Nollywood actress,Laide Bakare and her embattled husband and CEO of Primavera Construction and Engineering Ltd,Alhaji Atanda Orilowo[aka ATM] are unperturbed by the trouble of ATM over the forfeiture of his contract to construct a multi-billion naira Y'ELLOW ESTATE in Ajah,Lagos Stae. He has already gone to court to challenge MTN and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission[EFCC] over the forfeiture.
    Laide and ATM were spotted in nightclubs on the Island last weekend catching their fun.

WHY THE MOVIE PREMIERE OF HALF OF A YELLOW SUN WAS STOPPED

    HALF Of A Yellow Sun,a movie adaptation of the award-winning Nigerian novelist,Chimamanda Adichie's novel of same title has been successfully premiered in Europe and America.However,the attempts of the movie producer to premiere the big-budget flick in Lagos and Ibadan, and other parts of Nigeria have been met with a stiff opposition by the Nigerian Movie Censors Board.
   The Censors Board had asked the producer to edit out some parts of the movie that could potentially incite a major tribe in Nigeria against other tribes .The Censors Board's position is informed by the wrong signals such overtly political parts could send,especially at a time like this when there is a high level of insecurity of lives and property in Nigeria. The Censors Board also queried why the cast of the movie were predominantly Ibos.
   The producer and writer have stoutly refused to edit the movie,claiming that it will water down the strand of the narration.

BOKO HARAM FINALLY CLAIMS RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE MISSING CHIBOV GIRLS

      TODAY, the dreaded Boko Haram insurgency which have inflicted heavy sorrow,tears and blood on thousands of innocent Nigerians by dispatching them to the world beyond and maiming some for life  by their sporadic bombings claimed responsibility for the abduction of the 234 girls of Government Girls Secondary School,Chibov. The abduction has generated a great deal of interest in Nigeria and abroad.
    This afternoon,the Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau posted a video online,boasting that the girls are in their custody,and threatening to sell the missing girls as soon as possible.

DAVID MOYES RELAXES IN FLORIDA

 

   Life indeed must go on. David Moyes who was sacked as Manager of Manchester United FC barely two weeks ago was pictured on Miami Beach in Florida,as he tried to put a dismal week behind him.
   Moyes was also pictured in the airport in Miami and in a restaurant with his pretty wife,Pamela repeatedly checking his phone.
    The gaffer had reportedly reached a financial settlement with United,in the region of 7 million pound sterling.

'' I AM NOT DYING'', ADEBAYO FALETI

      Veteran Yoruba actor,writer and poet,Chief Adebayo Faleti has debunked the story which was recently published by the Global Excellence magazine that he has terribly emaciated and he is dying.
     According to him,the genesis of the story was a recent visit by The Movie Ambassadors,the youth wing of ANTP led by the popular Nollywood actor,Saheed Balogun to his Ojoo,Ibadan residence. They fulfilled their promise to do something on his welfare by sending London-based Yemi Amodu to him to give him a gift of 30000 naira to buy provisions. Unknown to Adebayo Faleti,one of the visitors was a journalist from the magazine,who twisted the story.
   ''I am hale and hearty'', the octogenarian concluded.

OLAMIJU AKALA WEDS KHADIJA OKOYA

    ON EASTER Sunday[April 20], two big families in Yoruba land joined together in marriage. All roads led to the Oluwanisola Castle Lekki home of the Okoyas when Olamiju[ ex Governor Adebayo Alao Akala's first son] tied the nuptial knot with Khadija,one of the Eleganza boss,Alhaji Rasak Okoya's daughters.

MALAYSIAN FLIGHT AIRLINE ASKED VICTIMS RELATIVES TO GO HOME

 The Beijing Airlines that owned the Malaysian Flight 370  which disappeared in the air over a month ago has asked the relatives of the victims to vacate the hotels they have been lodging in Beijing for the past one month and return home. All the efforts deplored so far by the Airlines to find the missing plane have proved abortive.
     The Airline has promised to pay $50000 to each of the victim's relatives as compensation. The country's Minister of Transportation, Mr Hishamuddin Hussein has confirmed that,contrary to popular belief,there is no political undertones to the plane's disappearance.

COMEDIAN KLINK DA DRUNK'S LOVE FOR COMPUTER GAMES

  If there is one thing the popular comedian, Klink Da Drunk has a weakness for,it is computer games. He has been spotted  on several occasions in gadget shops,buying latest computer games,and educating people about their gadgets.
   He is proud of his fad. According to him,''IT is better that I am a sucker for video games than a sucker for smoking marijuana.''

MOBOLA AKINJIDE GIVES MARRIAGE ANOTHER TRIAL

 Mobola,the first daughter of the Second Republic Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice,Chief Richard Akinjide and the elder sister of Jumoke Akinjide,the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory,FCT is now married to Adedapo Ayoola,a businessman turned pastor.
  The famous society lady was once married to Fade Ajao,a union blessed with three lovely children.The marriage crashed in the early 1990s. She later married Wole Ojuri,a businessman. The foundation of the marriage was rocked by allegations of infidelity.This culminated in her being sent packing from her Omole,Ikeja matrimonial home.
   Mobola,who used to lead an active social life has withdrawn into her shell,having become a born again christian. She is now an active worshipper at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries.She is presently a full partner in the law firm of Akinjide and Co Solicitors.

EX BAYELSA STATE GOVERNOR FALLS ON HARD TIMES

    Life has changed dramatically for the immediate past Governor of oil rich Bayelsa State,Chief Timipre Sylva. His financial fortunes have taken a turn for the worse to the extent that he now sells off his property to meet up his needs.
    His businesses have allegedly crumbled,and several of his bank accounts were reportedly frozen by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, who has charged him to court for money laundering and gross abuse of office.

HARD TIMES HIT NIGERIANS IN GHANA

   A few years ago,many Nigerians relocated to the neighbouring West African country,Ghana to establish businesses and settle down with their families. The attraction then was the strength of Ghanaian currency,cedis,the widening economic opportunities and uninterrupted power supply which was painfully lacking in Nigeria.
   However,the Ghanaian economy has  nosedived,and many Nigerians living in Ghana no longer have it rosy. The Ghanaian cedis have depreciated,employment opportunities have shrunk,and the pump price of petrol has increased. Many of them have relocated to Nigeria.

VETERAN FILM MAKER,AMAKA IGWE IS DEAD

Veteran film maker,Amaka Igwe is dead. She died of asthmatic attack in Enugu on Monday where she had gone with her husband for the preproduction of a sitcom.
     She broke into the limelight years back when she produced and directed award-winning  soap operas,Checkmate and Fuji House of Commotion. Her fame loomed large when she produced highly successful flicks like Violated[starring Richard Mofe Damijo and Ego Boyo] and Rattlesnake.Her greatest strength is the excellent qualities of her work.

LOS ANGELES CLIPPER OWNER,DONALD STERLING BANNED FOR LIFE

     The National Basketball Association[NBA] has,through its Commissioner, Adam Silver banned the controversial owner of the Los Angeles Clippers,Donald Sterling for life from NBA activities. The ban and the $2.5 million fine imposed on him was sparked by the racist comment he told his Mexican girlfriend ''never to associate with black people.''
     Process is under way to force the incurable racist to sell Los Angeles Clippers. This is subject to the approval of three quarter of NBA club owners. Over 10 people,including Oprah Winfrey,the immensely popular and ultra rich producer of Oprah Winfrey Show have indicated interest in purchasing the highly successful club.

PRESIDENT JONATHAN SACKS GULAG

    President Goodluck Jonathan has sacked his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Alhaji Ahmed Gulag. In a statement released by the President's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity,Dr Reuben Abati, no particular reason was given for the sack.
   The President thanked him for his period of service.
