CHRISTIANO RONALDO SET TO MOVE TO MANCHESTER UNITED

FIFA current World Player of the Year, Christiano Ronaldo has become increasingly frustrated with life at Real Madrid, and could be keen on a sensational move back to his former club, Manchester United, according to the European champion's former president, Ramon Calderon. Real Madrid's season has started on a miserable note, losing two of their first three La Liga matches. Ronaldo's anger is also largely borne out of the sale of key players such as Angel Di Maria, Mesut Ozil and Xabi Alonso. He is reportedly  fed up with the policy of the current Real Madrid President, Florentino Perez.
Manchester United are reportedly planning a spectacular offer to lure him back to Old Trafford. However, the only stumbling block to the deal is Ronaldo's request for a staggering 500,000 pounds sterling a week,if he is to rejoin the club that brought him fame and fortune.

REAL REASONS NIGERIAN BANKS REJECT RURAL LAND AS COLLATERAL

According to the Chairman, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria[CIBN], Mr Abolade Agbola, a controversial clause in the Land Use Act is the main reason why banks reject rural parcels of land as collateral for loans. He said ;'' The Land Use Act made it difficult for rural farmers to access agricultural loans using lands as collateral. The Land Use Act says if your land is acquired for public purpose, the only compensation you will be given is that of development on it. But if I clear the land,it's a development. If you clear 10000 hectares of land today as far as the Land Use Act is concerned,it's only when there are economic trees on it that you can be compensated. So,that land has no compensation. And that is one of the reasons why rural lands are not presentable as collateral.''
He lamented that the unfavourable situation had prevented rural farmers from accessing agricultural loans which could have enhanced farming and food security in  the country.

PUBLIC CRITICISMS OF JUDGE MASIPA'S JUDGEMENT MAY LAND OSCAR PISTORIUS LONG JAIL TERM

LAST week, Judge Thokozile Masipa acquitted the paralympian South African athlete, Oscar Pistorius of the premeditated murder of his late girlfriend and model, Reeva Steenkamp after a trial that lasted over 42 days and generated global interest. She,however, convicted him of culpable homicide. His sentencing will take place anytime from October 13.
In giving her verdict, Judge Masipa was,in all fairness, so thorough and painstaking, as she relied heavily on the facts of the case, and confirmed that the prosecutor failed to prove its case against the athlete beyond reasonable doubt. Surprisingly enough, since giving her verdict, there has been a public outrage in South Africa that she is ''too lenient'' on the disgraced athlete. Print media, electronic media, blogs and social media have descended so heavily on her that the public criticisms may negatively affect the sentencing she will hand over to the accused. In South  African law, culpable homicide could attract a maximum 15 years jail term, and a minimum of suspended sentence and community service. If this castigation continues,Judge Masipa may be forced to wield the big stick and hand over maximum sentence the accused. That will be too bad and unfair for the emotionally dispirited athlete.
