DR MUIZ BANIRE'S DISARMING SIMPLICITY

The National Legal Adviser of All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr Muiz Banire is a personality who fascinates me a lot. When I taught his three children at an after-school prep school on Anthony Village, Lagos several years ago,I never knew I was teaching the children of such a cerebral, disarmingly simple, enviable legal icon. In a recent interview with City People magazine, he demonstrates this. According to him, ''cars don't interest me. I am not a car freak. I don't pay attention to the value of clothes people wear. I don't even know why women carry expensive designer bags.''

PFIZER, ALLERGAN MERGE

Two giant  pharmaceutical companies, Pfizer and Allergan have merged. The merger will reportedly create world's biggest pharmaceutical or drug deal. The move could also sharply reduce the tax rate of the two multinational companies.

''I MAY NOT REMARRY'', TOYIN AIMAHKU

Controversial and sexy Yoruba actress, Toyin Aimakhu has finally cleared the air on the stories flying around her personality lately concerning her alleged lover, Seun Egbegbe. In a chat with NNN,she said she doesn't know where her rumoured plan to marry Seun Egbegbe emanates from. Hear her: ''I have said it times without number that I'm not dating Seun and I've never been beaten to a pulp by any man. Seun is my friend. You can only marry someone you are dating. And I don't think I have time for any relationship now. I don't think I would want to get married again.''
Toyin's plan to kiss marriage bye bye, I strongly believe is taking it too far. She is too lively and pretty to remain single. Most important, she needs to have children.

BASKET MOUTH IN LINDA IKEJI'S BEDROOM; AND SO WHAT?

Our celebrities need to stop boring us up with craps. 2 days ago, the news went viral that ace stand-up comedian, Basketmouth  was in top female blogger, Linda Ikeji's bedroom in her newly-acquired multi-million naira mansion on Banana Island, Lagos. Basketmouth actually uploaded his pix taken in the room on his instagram with the rider: ''don't ask me what I am doing in Linda Ikeji's bedroom.''
My point is that whose business is it if he goes to Linda's bedroom. He is even fully-clothed, and not in boxer's shorts, which could have been more newsworthy. Abeg, readers need juicy stories and not ordinary incidents.

OSCAR PISTORIUS MAY BE CONVICTED FOR MURDER

THERE are strong feelers that the disgraced South African paralympian, Oscar Pistorius could be convicted for murder and sent back to prison before the end of this year by the five South African five judges of the Supreme Court of Appeal led by Lex Mpati. Two days ago during the appeal hearing,Oscar's defence lawyer, Barry Roux faced tough questioning from the five judges who put it straight to him to explain how Oscar would not have foreseen the death of whoever is in the toilet by firing four shots into the cubicle. The Supreme Court of Appeal seemed more swayed by the prosecutor, Gerrie Nel's argument that Oscar should have been convicted for murder. Legal experts across the world mostly believe that Oscar's chance of acquittal from murder is slim.
But then, you never can tell. The world has witnessed greater surprises.
