SENATOR AHMED YERIMA INSISTS THAT IN ISLAM,A MENSTRUATING GIRL CAN MARRY

         Despite the invectives and criticisms being hurled at him left, right and center, Senator Ahmed Yerima has stood his ground concerning his support for child marriage on the floor of the Upper House of the National Assembly.
       According to him,his position was informed by Islamic tenets and the Holy Quran. He posits that the Holy Quran said any married woman is of full age, and the Prophet Mohammed, S.A.W., said for you to marry,there are conditions you must have attained as a woman,namely menstruation. According to Yerima, once you start menstruation, you are of full age, and you can marry.

         Fast rising Yoruba actress, Biodun Okeowo who was shot into the limelight a few years ago with the production of the movie, Tolani Osinrin has persistently denied the rumour flying around her personality that she is dating the popular fuji musician, Wasiu Alabi, Pasuma.
        The beautiful mother of two children said she has never dated Pasuma, nor have any sexual relationship with him. According to her, Pasuma is just a colleague and a friend.

       Nigerian ex football star, Austin JayJay Okocha is to have his baptism of fire in movie production and Nollywood by producing a movie that will chronicle the career of the reggae artiste and Send Down The Rain crooner, Majek Fashek.
     The movie which will be shot in Nigeria and New York will star veteran actor, Francis Duru who will play the role of Majek Fashek. For an excellent role delivery, Francis has reportedly been taking some guitar lessons. The movie will be directed by Jeta Amata, the experienced movie director.

''I AM DYING'', IRON MIKE TYSON CRIES OUT

       The boxing legend and former WBC and WBA World heavyweight boxing champion, Iron Mike Tyson has confessed that he is dying from his perennial abuse of drugs. He claimed he has been steeped in the act since 1986 when he became world boxing champion at the relatively young age of 20. According to him, the goddess of fame and wealth smiled on him rather too early in life, and he mismanaged it.
     Now a boxing promoter, he has presently only managed to stay five days running without using drugs.

     The U.K. government is investigating how the U.K. branch of Bishop Oyedepo's Winners Chapel misappropriated roughly 16 million pound sterling[ about 4 billion naira] collected as tithes between 2008 and 2011.
    Remarkably, over 1 million pound sterling[ 250 million naira] out of the amount is said to have been sent to the Nigerian headquarters of the church, as shown in the church's account.

INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE OPTS FOR A QUIET WEDDING

      The Nigerian Inspector General Of Police , Mr Mohammed Abubakar is set to remarry, one year after the tragic, untimely death of his wife, Maryam. Maryam died in January 2012 shortly after Abubakar assumed the office in an acting capacity.

       Last week, the social media went viral with the news that Tonto Dike, the controversial Nollywood star has been wearing a new look lately by bleaching her skin. Her lightening skin has been a talking point whenever she is spotted in movie locations and premieres. Being blunt by nature, Tonto Dike confirmed that she is actually bleaching her skin, in an interview she recently granted a soft sell magazine.

OGUN STATE APC STARTS ON A SHAKY NOTE

      A fortnight ago, the incumbent governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun hurriedly launched the All Progressives Congress[APC] at the Ake palace ground in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. The national leadership of the Action Congress of Nigeria led by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the state leader of the party, Aremo Osoba were conspicuously absent from the launching.
      The launching was triggered by Amosun's fear that he may not be endorsed as the consesus candidate in the 2015 governorship election.
       Tinubu and Osoba are reportedly positioning ex Guaranty Trust Bank boss, Fola Adeola for the post, as they are unimpressed by Amosun's style of administration.

          The four years old marriage between Tundun Abiola and Kogi big boy, Atama Attah has broken down irretrievably. Tundun, the second daughter of late M.K.O. Abiola's third wife, Chief Bisi  Abiola did a talk-of-the-town wedding with Atama Attah in the United Kingdom in 2009.
         Tundun confided in her friends that the marriage crashed  due to Attah's failure to inform her that he was previously married. Attah is also labelled by Tundun as being indolent and unambitious.

          Female inmates at the Owerri Prison are now allegedly being subjected to sexual abuses, which sometimes result in unwanted pregnancies.
        According to close sources to the prison who does not have her name to be mentioned, many female inmates consent to the sexual requests of the prison officials so as to enjoy certain privileges in prison. To corroborate this allegation, many female prisoners who were not pregnant before getting to the prison, get pregnant and deliver babies in prison.
       However, the prison's Public Relations Officer has refuted the allegation as baseless.

FUNKE ADESHIYAN DENIES PLANNING TO MARRY SATI RAHMAN

NIGERIA BORROWED 1.6 BILLION U.S. DOLLARS FROM CHINA

    The Nigerian government, with the approval of President Goodluck Jonathan and the Coordinating Minister of Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has borrowed a whopping sum of 1.6 billion U.S. dollars from the government of the People's Republic of China, The World Bank and the African Development Bank.
   The borrowing is said to be geared towards expanding the electricity of the country, which is undergoing privatization.

MAJEK FASHEK UNDERGOES REHABILITATION

        Reggae icon and singer of the popular Send Down The Rain song, Majek Fashek was recently drageed to a white garment church in Badagry by his U.S.A.-based wife, Rita. At the church, he was reportedly chained and dehumanised, all in a desperate bid to seek spiritual solution to his perennial drug addiction.
         However, the latest report is that Hajiya Dangaji, who calls the shot in Majek's management outfit, A+Global stormed the church with law enforcement agents. Majek has now been relocated to an undisclosed guest house in Ikeja, Lagos State where he is being attended to by medics.

LAWYERS APPEAL FOR THE RELEASE OF MIKE OZEKHOME

         The fiery Lagos-based lawyer and human rights activist, Barrister Mike Ozekhome was abducted by hardened kidnappers along Benin- Auchi road on Saturday[ August 24]. In a commando style, the kidnappers dispatched the four policemen who attempted to avert the kidnapping into the world beyond.
      Meanwhile, seasoned lawyers across the country have appealed to the kidnappers to release him. Edo State government has promised to leave no stone unturned in ensuring his release. Baaristers Festus Keyamo and Fred Agbaje are some of the lawyers who have commented on this ugly incident. They alluded the incident to political motives and the porous state of insecurity in Nigeria.

''I CAN NEVER ACT A PORN MOVIE,'' SAYS ANITA JOSEPH

       The ravishingly beautiful and alluring controversial Nollywood star actress, Anita Joseph has cleared the air around some of the controversies surrounding her personality.
     Lately, blogs and social media have been awash with the rumour that Afrocandy has offered her a mouth-watering deal to feature in a porn movie. She stoutly denied this,and said: ''I can never act in a porn movie. Not for any amount of money.''
   Anita believes that one of the reasons behind her controversial nature is her love for skimpy dressing.

ARE NIGERIAN MEN BECOMING LESS AND LESS ROMANTIC?

     Several OOB female readers have commented  on this thorny issue. According to many Nigerian women, Nigerian men are becoming less and less romantic. Many Nigerian men no longer do foreplay such as deep kissing and sucking of their lovers' nipples during love making. Many don't even go beyond one or two rounds of sex before wearing out.Only few Nigerian men, it is claimed, managed to take their lovers to reach orgasm.
    OOB sampled many women's opinion on this disturbing trend.The general  belief is that most Nigerian men underperformed on bed due to the load  of worries on their heads.The prevailing economic hardship in the country does not help matters.

      When President Jonathan Goodluck plucked the cerebral, Havard-trained economist , Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala from the World Bank, and appointed her as the Coordinating Minister of Economy, millions of Nigerians applauded him that the President's net has caught a big fish in the river. Most people thought the Messiah has come to revamp the country's parlous economy.
       Lamentably,however, two years after her appointment, her impact has not been felt on the country's economy, which has continued to worsen.

SAHEED BALOGUN DENIES HAVING ANOTHER KID

          In a recent interview granted to Akeem Lasisi of The Punch newspaper in Nigeria, popular Yoruba actor, Saheed Balogun has  debunked the rumour being peddled among bloggers and soft sell magazines that he has another child from any other woman except his estranged wife,Fathia.
         Saheed took a swipe on Nigerian bloggers whom he described as mostly being lazy. He opines that,'' Many Nigerian bloggers don't verify their stories before blogging them. How can someone just hide in one corner and say  anything he likes on his or her blog.''

ANGELO DENIES HAVING SEX WITH BEVERLY OSU ON BBA

      Having been evicted from BBA Reality Show,the South African housemate,Angelo has denied having sex with the Nigerian housemate,Beverly Osu. Contrary to popular opinion,he said they were just kissing. His decision never to engage in any form of immorality in the house was informed by the promises he made to his mum before the show.
     According to Angelo, ''I was not butt naked. It looked as if we were having sex in that bath tub,we were just kissing.''
    However,he confirmed he has fallen in love with Beverly,and their relationship will outlive BBA show.

ARSENE WENGER'S DAYS ARE NUMBERED AT ARSENAL F.C

       The embattled Arsenal F.C. coach,Arsene Wenger's contract runs out at the end of the current season. There are strong indications that it will not be renewed. Arsenal F.C. fans globally have become disgruntled and impatient with the Frenchman for failing to win any trophy since 2005 when the club won the F.A. cup at the expense of Manchester United.
     Arsenal F.C. has lost its potency over the years. The 3-1 loss to Aston Villa at Emirates Stadium in the league opener further compounds Wenger's woes. What annoyed fans most is his failure to buy quality players,despite the 75 million pounds reportedly in his kitty for that purpose. Perhaps,the economist in him is his undoing.

CURTAIN TO BE DRAWN ON BIG BROTHER AFRICA

         Whatever has a beginning must surely have an end. This Sunday, the hugely popular Big Brother Africa competition will end. The race to win the $300,000 is heating up with only four contestants remaining.
        Nigeria proudly parades two of these last 4 standing. We have the hot-pant,controversial Beverly Osu who has braced all odds to get to this stage. Melvin also made it to the final.

SENATOR BUKOLA SARAKI SHUNS EFCC

        The Chairman of the Senate Committee on  Environment and Ecology, Senator Bukola Saraki has reportedly shunned the invitation served to him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over the fraud-related cases he has to answer. The spokesman of EFCC, Mr Wilsom Owujarenn made this allegation. According to him, Senator Saraki has eight major cases bordering on fraud pending before the anti graft agency,EFCC.
       A statement by one of Senator Bukola Saraki's aides, Mr Bamidele Omishore claims that Senator Saraki will honour the EFCC invitation as soon as he returns from Saudi Arabia.

THE RECENT SPREADING OF SALMAN RUSHDIE'S BANNED NOVEL, ''THE SATANIC VERSES.''

          In 1988,the British  writer and Booker Prize winner, Salman Rushdie came up with a controversial novel, The Satanic Verses. In this novel, Rushdie exposes the flaws he believes are inherent in the Islamic religion, and labelled the Holy Koran as being inspired by satan, hence the novel's  title, The Satanic Verses.
          Not unexpectedly, the muslim world was enraged by the publication, and a fatwa [death sentence] was pronounced on Rushdie. Mercifully, the fatwa was later lifted on the condition that the novel's publication is banned for life.
        Remarkably, in recent years, the newly published editions of the novel are now available for sale in leading bookshops across Africa, Europe and America.

OJB JEZREEL JETS OUT TO INDIA

        Ailing music producer and songwriter, Babatunde Okungbowa[aka OJB Jezreel] will be leaving for India any moment from now for a kidney transplant and treatment in India.
        Arrangements concerning his travel expenses,hospital bills,feeding and accommodation has been fully completed. He got a major lifeline weeks back following Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi's donation of $100,000 to the OJB Fund Raising Committee.
       Olusola Oso's Blog [OOB]  wishes him a successful trip and operation in the undisclosed hospital in India.

FESTUS KEYAMO DECLARES SENATORIAL AMBITION.

     The fiery and ever-quotable human rights lawyer, Barrister Festus Keyamo has officially signified his intention to run for the vacant seat of Delta Central Senatorial District. He will be doing that under the platform of the newly-registered All Progressives Congress[APC] which has become the toast of several Nigerian politicians,and which will definitely give the Peoples Democratic Party[PDP] a run for its money in the coming 2015 elections.
    The outspoken Festus Keyamo is also rumoured to be contesting for governorship in Delta State come 2015.

DAVIDO'S ELDER SISTER TIES THE NUPTIAL KNOT

         Sharon Adeleke,the elder sister of the hip hop rave of the moment, Davido   and the daughter of the ultra rich businessman, Dr Adedeji Adeleke did her traditional wedding with her long-standing lover, Yomi Ademefun.

       Ronke is fully back in Nigeria now. She is busy putting finishing touches to giving her father a befitting burial. In order not to be distracted,she has been rejecting movie scripts lately.
